Architecture:

• Built on Drupal CMS (5.9)
• E-Commerce provided by Ubercart
• Site Theme developed by ISL
• PostgreSQL Database backend
• Apache 2
• PHP 5.2

We choose Drupal because of its strong taxonomy system for organizing our products, as well as ease for our scientists to add and edit products with ease, not needing to know a single bit of HTML. Ubercart is a vast improvement over ecommerce v3, including a single-pane checkout system.

Sitewide
We've simplified our site into 3 major industry sections: Specialty Chemicals, Surface Engineering, and Renewable Energy. since our last site launch, Asemblon has worked hard on engineering new projects having to do with surface chemistry and nano technology.
We're still in the process of adding corporate information, bios, press releases, etc to the site. These will be added in the coming weeks and months as the associated departments have time to upload content.

Specialty Chemicals
Catalog Improvements: We've reorganized our products, as well as added descriptions to our categories in the main catalog. It should be easier for customers to identify what chemical structure they're looking for.
Custom Orders: Customers can now make a request for a custom molecule or bulk order through our custom orders section. We suggest that all customers use this form instead of calling or faxing in. If your company is interested in partnering up or becoming a distributor, please use our contact page to get in touch with our staff.

Surface Engineering
New to the Asemblon website, is our projects section: Surface Engineering. Did you know our staff provide consulting as well as analyitical services? Our new site is designed to take these requests and inform potential customers and partners about the vast surface chemistry services we provide in addition to catalog items.

Renewable Energy
The cornerstone to Asemblon's business model is the hydrogen business. The new website is designed to let the hydrogen business expand online, helping visitors to our website understand how our technology works. More content will be appearing in these sections as development matures and patents are secured.

E-Commerce
Our new site uses the ubercart shopping system, built for Drupal 5. All new orders placed via phone or fax will be entered into this system. Therefore, its recommended to place your order online. To see order status, you can now find this information by clicking on My account -> Orders.
